Galaxy Cartographer began as a procrastination project.
Faced with the overwhelming task of writing my epic space opera, I did what any sensible, would-be author would do: I built a procedural galaxy generator instead.
What started as a way to avoid naming a few planets spiraled into a full-blown visualization engine for spiral arms, star types, planetary distributions, and naming schemes that would make a Roman archivist weep. Galaxy Cartographer isn't just a toy. It’s a creative tool for authors, game masters, worldbuilders, and science fiction obsessives who want just enough logic behind their lore.
You can generate thousands of stars, filter by spectral type, inspect planetary systems, export CSVs and Excel files, and name planets with ordinal Latin flair. The engine uses seeded randomness, so you can regenerate the same galaxy again and again. Or, tweak the parameters until you discover the perfect setting for your next chapter, campaign, or fever dream.
Galaxy Cartographer doesn't write the story for you. But it will make sure the stars are aligned when you're finally ready to.
